Welcome to the SIU Amateur Radio Club W9UIH

The SIU Amateur Radio Club is a registered RSO of Southern Illinois University-Carbondale. Meetings take place on the second Tuesday of every month during the school year at 7 P.M. in the Engineering Building Section D, room 102. Meetings are open to the public and all are encouraged and invited to join.

The club station is located in the Engineering Building Section D, room D046. For more information, use the navigation bar located to the left.

Field Day 2010
Field Day operations will begin setup at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, June 26. The contest will begin at 1:00 P.M. and will continue for 24 hours. Everyone is invited and encouraged to attend! We will be next to the volleyball courts across the street from the Engineering building (adjacent to the Red sticker Commuter parking lot). We will be providing food, snacks, and drinks. We respectfully ask that non-members make a $5 donation to cover the cost of food and supplies. Membership forms will be available so you can join the club on the spot!
Kenwood TM-V71A Has Arrived!
With thanks to Barry Wilk, KH6KI and United Radio Communications, Inc (URCI), the SIU Amateur Radio Club is a proud owner of a BRAND NEW Kenwood TM-V71A VHF/UHF Dual-Band Radio. The radio has been installed in the club shack, and is working beautifully. Pictures will be posted soon.

The next meeting of the SIU Amateur Radio Club is on Tuesday, May 11th, 2010 at 6:00 PM at Quatros, 218 W Freeman, Carbondale, IL.
Weekly Amateur Radio Net
The SIU Amateur Radio Club 2-Meter Net takes place every Tuesday at 9:00 P.M. on 146.730 MHz PL 88.5 Hz. The net is a formal directed net, and all comments and questions are directed through Net Control. Licensed radio amateurs wishing to volunteer to be net control should contact the Net Control Chairperson. Please visit the log to watch check-ins in real-time.
